Prowl and Jazz Kitties!

Ok, first meme response is done!  No works of greatness here, so don't get your hopes up or anything.  ^^;
I decided to skip using the markers at least until I have a better idea on how to use them, and broke out my charcoal set.  I haven't drawn with charcoal in years, so if nothing else, I have to thank [info]vejiraziel for this prompt.

I had to use my phone to take the picture, as I have no scanner. )

Hopefully you can all tell who's Jazz and who's Prowl.  Hopefully.  XD
Drawing them was fun, though it got awkward when my real kitties decided to 'help'.  I'm surprised they didn't smear the charcoal everywhere!

Now all that's left is to figure out how to draw robots, and how to use markers.  (don't hold your breath waiting!)

...and this kitty is going to be busy.  I guess it's my turn to follow in [info]daebereth 's footsteps and take a hiatus from LJ.  Besides working 30 hours a week, I will be doing my volunteer work in the russian community.  I have two conventions in that language to help prepare for, both in two completely different states.  Part of my tasks is to help everyone who is going to find a way there, and get into one of the selected hotels.  I shall also be one of the translators.  ^_^

Being the only remaining child to my aging parents, (all my siblings are in other states as well), it is now up to me to take care of the yard, which was hit horribly hard in December by 11 days of snow and hail.  It killed all our plants that normally survived our mild winters, and broke tree branches left and right.  Some of which impaled our storage shed, totally destroying it and exposing it to all 3 feet of snow.    So yes, I shall be very busy in the next coming months.

(and to think, I had even forgotten that my grandma is coming up to stay with us for a month.  *sweatdrops*)

Thats not to say I shall disappear entirely, I do hope to spare 2-4 hours a week to check up on the flists and friends.  And those expecting plushie toasters from me have no need to worry.  I've been sewing in my off times in the late evenings, and shall have them all done by the first week of April.  \o/

I'm just saying all this so none of you who are used to me being online at all hours of the week think I've gone and died.  ^^;

I am my own worst enemy...

Oh No!

So here I am, suppose to be cleaning my room and studying. (and making toasters!)  and what is my brain all but compelling me to do?  Try my hand at making a plushie Nisson 350 Prowl.  My mind has even supplied me the pattern.  Somehow, someway, this is all [info]ante_luce 's fault, cause she's the one who poked the sleeping sewing muse.   *headdesks*

*goes off to start sewing*

I finished Toaster Jazz!

Toaster Prowl had been my tester. After making him, I saw where I needed to change the pattern I had made, and Jazz now gets to show it all off. This would also be why Jazz is now bigger than Prowl. >_> Fortunetly, all the sets I make from here on out will be the same size, using the same pattern. ^^:

Again I used anti-pill fleece, for everthing. And no jewelry for Jazz, cause I just couldnt find any that made a triangle for his visor handle. *sighs*

whoops... might be good to add the cut. *blushes* )

Now is the time to tell me if you DO NOT want one.  Or, if you do want one, now would be the time to tell me about any changes you'd like.  (ex:  smaller handles, smaller toaster slots, different colors, whatever)

So I finally finished him! A few things to say, before all the pictures.

1)I haven't taken a sewing class in my life. Everything I know I is self taught. As such, there are most assuredly mistakes. Professional I am not. -_-;

2)Fabric of choice was anti-pill fleece, as it was ridiculously cheap what with winter season over. And he's so soft!

3) I had wanted to use actual craft jewels for Prowl's police light handle, but it didnt work out. Whether it was the glue, the jewels, or Prowl himself refusing to wear bling, I dont know. So I made due with more fleece.

4)Prowl is 6 inches in length, 4 inches in depth, and 3 1/2 inches in width. Give or take. ^^

The many sides of Toaster!Prowl )This was my first time making anything rectangular.  It was harder than I thought.  I will be playing around with the design a bit more, but over all, I'm rather happy with how this turned out.   Now, after seeing Prowl, if you dont want one after all, I'd hardly blame you.  ^^;;   I do expect to make one toaster plushie a week.  Next up, is Jazz.

Prowl Eep!

So here I told a number of you that I'd be posting pics of Toaster!Plushie!Prowl up.  Sadly not gonna happen till Thursday now.  I was so close.  so slagging close!  to finishing, and what happens?  My needle broke.  In half.  DX   I do have a spare needle somewhere, but its late at night, and I have to be up early in the morning for a meeting I still havent studied for, and sadly, Prowl is gonna have to be sitting here with one wing missing.  I'll only need a half hour more to fully finish that last wing and attach it, but that will have to be after work Thursday.   Sorry for any dissapointment.   And may I just say that Prowl just looks so sad with only one wing?  *sighs*

Well, this was originally gonna be something in response to the meme I last posted, but then Youngling! Red Alert saw your disheartened post and demanded action.

He might be a bit ... pixilated. )

I'm snerching this from other various journals.  ^^ (eyes [info]vejiraziel  and [info]__wilderness__ )

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
- What I create will be just for you.
- It'll be done this year.
- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The first five people who reply must also post this in their journal, because there should be more people making stuff!

The following picture is brought to you exclusively by [info]hellsangelcurse  and this brief commentary:

Artemisia says: hide me?

Akima says: Its a blizzard outside.  Stand still for a few moments, and I'm sure you could pull of a snowman.

Artemisia says:... hmmmm.  That might work.

And being as we are both bored...
I drew her as a snowperson. ^^; )

The weather is conspiring to kill us off, one by one.

First we had that wonderful two weeks of snowfall, with bouts of ice, then more snow that was causing driving hazards everywhere.
But the snow melted and our usual winter rain came.    Everything back to normal, or so we thought.

The rain didnt stop, (think 3 inches every 24 hour period) and quite a bit of flooding has taken place (people have had to be evacuated because of floods and landslides), and being in one of many valleys, we have LOTS of rivers that are swelling up.  I get to cross five of them on my commute, and... its kinda unnerving seeing so much water so close to your roadway.

But today, it rained heavily in the morning then stopped.  And tonight when I got off work, dense, heavy fog came in, which normally wouldnt be a problem, except the temperature dropped back down to 29* F and all that lovely water on the road way started to freeze.

I passed by two car wrecks on the way home.  The last one was really bad, with one car quite possibly in a tree, and a second for sure smashed upside down in a ditch.  Three more cars were pushed up alongside the road.

Stepping outside my house is becoming more of a hazard with each new week.  -_-

Of life and snow

  • Dec. 18th, 2008 at 3:16 PM
Oh No!
Well, I am sufficiently snowed in at my friends house, a good 30 miles from where I live.  I am at least close enough to work now that I can walk to all my shifts.  Bad news is, a second storm is coming by Sat/Sun and is to last the week.  I have no idea when I'll make it home, or how long I'll be able to stay there before going back to be snowed in closer to work.

Internet time has dropped to less than an hour a day, if that, as the library isnt guaranteed to be open, and has been closing 5 hours earlier than normal due to the snow and ice.

But I'm alive and as safe as possible, so dont worry about me.  I'll see you when I do.  Its only been in the 20's (F) all this week, so BRRRRRR!   *huddles up more for warmth*

On the other side of things...  I miss home.  And my parents, and my kitty...   I'm beginning to wonder if this is how college kids feel, spending so much time away from family.  *sighs*  And I only have a weeks worth of clothes with me...

A friend of mine is graduating next weekend. I have been working really really hard on characature of her in anime form, along with her calico kitty Dee Dee. I just bought myself some really fancy smancy markers ($5.00 each) that professional manga artists use. I'm rather proud of how this turned out! ^_^

The kitty doesnt approve of strangers staring at her )

If G1 Ratchet transforms into a normal sized, everyday, run of the mill Ambulance...

how is he suppose to fit full sized, injured transformers inside of him to transport them back to the Ark after a battle?

Now Optimus Prime and his trailer I can believe...
